The Malawian Ministry of Health contracted Intaka Tech to supply and extend the medical oxygen and vacuum pipeline system into the Special Care Children’s Ward at Queen Elizabeth central Hospital, located in Blantyre. The installation was quite unusual in that low dividing walls were present separating the various patient cubicles, as well as the ward requiring lots of Terminal units (TU) /points.
Intaka had previously installed an extensive medical gas pipeline system (MGPS), some 8000meters of piping, throughout the hospital, which included a 72 kg/h Oxygen Concentrator System. Shortly thereafter, the first MGPS extension covering Ward 3A took place in late 2020, after which a further MGPS extension into the Paediatric Ward 1A ward was completed in 2021.
